Our Key Target Group

We work with the most vulnerable and marginalized groups like women, youth and children keeping in view the discrimination that exists at all levels in communities.

FSD-AFRICA focus is thus on the inclusion of minorities and special groups such as women/widows, girls, children/youth and physically impaired persons and the elderly.  Through the promotion of the principles and values of fairness, social inclusion and equity, FSD-AFRICA works in close collaboration with all categories of stakeholders both women and men in the project implementation, monitoring, supervision and evaluation.

The inclusion of women and girls, youth, people with special needs and the elderly in the decision-making processes are always emphasized throughout the project life cycle. This includes an ongoing engagement with all stakeholders in the project area through community awareness rising to minimize their vulnerability to circumstances that prevent them from school and issues related to sexual gender based violence as well as HIV/AIDs.

FSD-AFRICA advocates for the promotion and protection of the rights of these vulnerable and marginalized groups in close collaboration with the community, traditional/religious leaders; and policy makers at the local and national level.

The fundamental basic human rights of women and girls, youth, elderly people and those with special needs are always emphasized throughout the project life cycle based on the principle of “do no harm”. FSD-AFRICA therefore will always raise community awareness in the protection of the rights of women, girls and boys, youth and those people with special needs to minimize their vulnerability.
